When we feel stuck or overwhelmed, reaching out to talk to someone about what we are going through is hard. It takes courage to trust someone enough to share our pain. That is why Heather's aim in therapy is to create a safe space to meet her clients as they are. The counselling experience with Heather involves clients' active participation, because each client brings the expertise of their own life. As humans we are hardwired for connection; you don’t have to do this alone!
Heather is a Registered Psychologist and works with children, youth and adults as well as families and couples. Some of the client concerns she has experience working with include: grief and loss, divorce/separation, suicidal ideation and self-harm, emotional dysregulation, developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, parent-child relationship, parenting concerns, and relationship conflict.
Heather is trained in Gottman Couples Therapy and is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist®. She also has specialized training in Emotion-focused Family Therapy.
