Pronouns she/her
Nadia completed her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology through the University of Alberta in 2017 and enjoys working with both adults and couples! Her areas of special interest include anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, domestic violence, and trauma (PTSD & C-PTSD). However, she has supported clients through a range of additional experiences including learning to manage anger, major life transitions, depression and grieving.
Healing is different for each person and so Nadia has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and Emotionally Focussed Therapy. Working with Nadia could mean learning to tune into your internal cues, reshaping your perceptions of a sweat-inducing trigger, revisiting your past to understand your coping strategies, or even challenging your behaviors to unlock new options! Nadia also believes we are social creatures and relationships are a core part of healing. She incorporates an attachment lens to help you understand “the how and why” of your relationship patterns. At the end of the day, she believes what most of us are looking for is meaning and connection.
Therapy can be solution-focused to give you just a few strategies in a handful of sessions or it can be a self-care process of understanding yourself over the course of years. Nadia’s priority is making sure therapy stays tuned into what you’re looking for at this point in your life. And if she’s not the right fit, she’ll help you find someone who is!
